This program is a really short hike without too much pressure for those who like the highland sceneries or to look upon the fascinating Inca life with their traditional skills that isn´t too extraneous.  Along this trip we will see how the Incas conquered the highlands and the fertilely valleys such the sacred valley nowadays considered the gardens of the Inkas empire, after several hours walking, we will arrive to Huchuyq’osqo 3600 m / 11,811 ft. according archeologists, it was the private palace of Wiracocha Inca king, who was the father of Pachacuteq Inca the most powerful and important king of the Inka empire. This Incas site connects with Machupiqchu citadel and will make a great trip and unforgettable experience.

OVERALL INFORMATION

DAY 01 : Cusco - Tauca - Huchuyq’osqo - Lamay

We’ll collect you from your hotel and go to Tauca small village near of Chinchero an important farming center for the  production of potatoes; Tauca is a small community where we’ll start to hike in the direction of the Andean highlands where the Vilcanota mountain range have amazing sights to see; there are snowy peaks like Pitusiray, Sahuasiray, chicon whose were considered as holy mountains in the Inkas time, the Highest top  of this journey are 4200 m /13,780 ft., surrounding  this path, natives are still working like in the ancient time staying true to their traditions. Around midday we’ll find a suitable place to eat our packed lunch and have a picnic, after a rejuvenating rest, our journey will continue to Huchuyq’osqo 3600 m / 11,811 ft. where  the tour guide is going to explain to you the history of this beautiful Inca’s site which was built by Wiracocha Inka who  was the father  of Pachacuteq, then we´ll start to go downhill to Lamay from where our private transportation will pick us up and take us in the direction of Ollantaytambo; which is where we’ll stop and have dinner in a tourist restaurant, from here we’ll take the train service to Aguas Calientes town, finally arriving overnight in a nice and comfortable hotel.

Itinerary

Day 02 : Aguas calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

With another early rise, we go to the bus station to take the bus to Machu Picchu. This bus takes 25 minutes by uneven track, where we will do tour of the Inca citadel, your tour guide will guide you around for about two and a half hours, to show you the most important sectors of this beautiful and enigmatic Inca citadel and then you will have some free time to wander, explore and take photos. Or alternatively you could decide to climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu (tickets required), where you can see spectacular panoramic views of Machu Picchu, the valleys and mountains that surround it, or visit the Temple of the Moon or the great Inca Bridge. In the afternoon, we will meet in the town of Aguas Calientes, where if you want, you can visit and relax in its hot springs. From here we take the train back to Cusco, and we drop you off at your hotel / hostel. Travel time 4 hours. End of our services.
