This trip goes to Huchuyq’osqo (small Cusco) which it is situated on the high part of Urubamba Valley; this archeological site was the great palace of Inca Viraqocha, father of Inca Pachacuteq (the most important king in the Inca Empire). The journey finishes in Machupiqchu, the mystic and enigmatic citadel that has made it onto the list of the seven new wonders of the world. |

OVERALL INFORMATION |
DAY 01 : Cusco - Tambomachay - Huchuyq’osqo.
At 6:30am we’ll pick you up from the hotel, and take you in our private transportation to the ruins of Tambomachay 3700 m / 12,139 ft. There we start our hike uphill to reach the peak of near 4200 m / 13,780 ft. we´ll then hike down into valley and through a small community at the bottom. As we descend; along the trail you will see a beautiful green valley stretching away. The path we see on the right slope leads to P’isaq, as small village near the Sacred Velley. Passing through the village and across a bridge the trail takes us up over the second pass at around 4300 m. /14,108 ft. into high open country. En route we will see Lake Qoricocha (Golden Lake). We continue along this clear trail and then arrive at the highest point of the trek, 4350 m /14272 ft and then afterwards we´ll descend towards the Pucamarca community 4010 m /13,153 ft. and continue until the summit of the Gulch, where we will be able to observe part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we later arrive in León Punku, a mysterious formations on Rocks and then finally we will head to the Archaeological complex of Huchuyq’osqo 3600 m. /11,811 ft. to have dinner and we will camp out in an impressive nighttime atmosphere.

Day 02 : Huchuyq’osqo - Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
After a wholesome breakfast, we will have a Guided tour around the complex of Huchuyq'osqo 3600 m. /11,811 ft. with enough time to explore it in all its dimensions. After this visitation, we will continue with our trek. It will take around two hours to arrive at the highest top of our journey (4200 m /13,780 ft.). After admiring the surrounding mountains and landscape, we will go downhill which will take around two hours until we arrive at the Tauca community, where we will have lunch. Then we’ll catch our private transportation onwards toward Ollantaytambo 2800 m / 9,186 ft. to catch the train to Aguas Calientes, a small town close to Machu Picchu, where we will have our dinner and stay overnight in a nice and comfortable hotel.

Day 03 : Aguas calientes - Machupiqchu - Cusco
With another early rise, we go to the bus station to take the bus to Machu Picchu. This bus takes 25 minutes by uneven track, where we will do tour of the Inca citadel, your tour guide will guide you around for about two and a half hours, to show you the most important sectors of this beautiful and enigmatic Inca citadel and then you will have some free time to wander, explore and take photos. Or alternatively you could decide to climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu (tickets required), where you can see spectacular panoramic views of Machu Picchu, the valleys and mountains that surround it, or visit the Temple of the Moon or the great Inca Bridge. In the afternoon, we will meet in the town of Aguas Calientes, where if you want, you can visit and relax in its hot springs. From here we take the train back to Cusco, and we drop you off at your hotel / hostel. Travel time 4 hours. End of our services.

- A Sleeping bag, a backpack for hiking, 2 pairs pants, 2 pairs of shorts, 4-poles (long and short), several pairs of socks, Sandals, towels, toilet paper, gloves, thermal jacket, a hat for cold days, sunglasses and sunscreen for when the sun comes out.
- A liter bottle of water.
- A Flashlight with spare batteries, matches, knives.
- Hiking boots (preferably waterproof with ankle protection).
- Insect repellent, cream to hydrate the face and/or body.
- A Raincoat (poncho for rain).
- Energy foods (dried fruits, candies, chocolates, cookies, etc.).
- Soap and other toiletries and clothes to change.
- Swimsuit (recommended for the hot springs).
- You should bring appropriate clothing for both hot and cold days of the tour.
- Also, depending on your interest, you could bring a camera or camcorder, binoculars, compass; all such equipment should be lightweight.
